I have a bizarre sense of humor, plus I can make I.Q. and topic turns at 90 degrees within micro-seconds! Do not say you weren't warned! Actually, I have a great, but strange, sense of humor and I also love to have deep, thoughtful discussions on many subjects, so feel free to contact me. My blogs here are pretty deep in subject matter, but the discussions often tend toward a Marx Brothers Universe approach to humor. I suffer (gladly) from a severe case of ideaphoria. Sometimes it's contagious.
I have been a Sci-Fi fan for ages. My father turned me on to several Master novelists (and couldn't get my nose out of the books after that). I am strongly opinionated on many issues, but willing to listen to reason and discuss rationally. You may even convince me, who knows?
I love movies--usually action/adventure, but sometimes even 'chick-flicks' and I even cry more than my wife does. Nothing wrong with being sensitive to others and having a good imagination, but the combination is deadly when you get a tear-jerker movie going. I really like the Bourne series and am looking forward to the new ST film. Nicolas Cage has been in some very interesting ones lately.
I have an awesome wife and five wonderful children (all purebred Terran), four grandchildren (not sure there) and the hope for Generations (ahem!) yet to come.
I am a writer of short stories, novels, humor, contemporary songs, hymns, vignettes, poems, bumper sticker and T-shirt slogans, blogs and who knows what else will come along. I also occasionally get the bug to draw and paint. In other words, I am a useless, creative slob. I have been a welder, a mechanical designer and fabricator, a proofreader, draftsman, PR rep, machinist, a salesman and a Satellite TV installer, to name a few. I have received certifications for Sat TV, Radiation Worker level 2, Hazardous Waste Handling and Flagging. Variety is the spice of life, they say.
I enjoy writing more than anything. I am open to writing projects for others, should they wish. Photography interests me, too. I know a lot more about computers now, thanks to self-inflicted problems here and there--lol. Always wondering what the next button or menu does--*sigh*
I am currently working on a series of short stories for the LDS audience and have about 40 more ideas in mind for novels, many based in Sci-Fi type themes. I plan to update or start a new site more appropriate to my needs in the near future. Being site-builder illiterate for the most part, I welcome help from anyone who might give me pointers as I come to that stage.
Samples of my writing may be seen under the Recommended Links at: http://yourownnovel.blogspot.com. Also check my blogs here and see if it sparks any thoughts.
Lots of your info is in the profile, which I locked as private when I first wrote the questions. You need to place that info into your blog or into your html box so everyone can see it. After all, the purpose of this site is to provide a webpage for its members to advertise their work. Send me the names of your books on Amazon or other sites. I am an affiliate of Abe Books and Barnes and Noble, too. I started a page on my Dirt Poor Book Shop for authors that I know. Send me some titles!
hi,
have you a book that can be posted in my estore? Visit Dirt Poor Book Shop to see if you want to add a book to the book page when it gets developed.
do you have a book on Amazon.com, or an ebook somewhere? I will look but am in the middle of a project right now. I visited a few pages of your sites once, but have been bogged down since and need to review the pages again to make intelligent comments.
I am looking for stories for youth to put in an ebook, preferably scifi, payment is by commission when book sells. We can discuss it in the group eBook Writers.
Want to discuss webpage development? Come join the OJT group--or let's discuss it here. I can tell you what I have learned to date--my favorite books and program: Dreamweaver. I, too, learned by doing and reading over the last 2.5 years of doing a website and blog. I couldn't understand the templates I looked at, so I had to use Dreamweaver. I found that after a while I could understand some of the code, so I started reading an HTML book and now, well, I love doing webpages with a mix of coding, CSS, and wysigy(spelling?). Is your story similar? I plan to learn forms and php next.
Welcome! I have several websites on which I do affiliate ads. If you have books listed on amazon or ebay or somewhere else I advertise, let me know. I am always looking for books to advertise.
If you have books suitable for kids, I would like to review them/list them on my vforteachers.com site. It may take a bit of time to get around to posting them, but keep reminding me.
Do you plan to use this page for an ad for yourself? Or maybe your blog from this site? Go for it. Are you joining the groups?
